DIAGEO LEARNING SKILLS FOR LIFE SUPPORTS DRESS FOR SUCCESS 20TH ANNIVERSARY
Attending on behalf of FIU were Simone Champagnie and Jeffrey Wahl from the Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Education and Research.
Diageo Learning Skills for Life started 2014 the right way by supporting the 20th anniversary of Dress for Success as it honored Senator Gwen Margolis for her 40 years of public service. Dress for Success has been an active supporter of the Learning Skills for Life program in Miami, even helping to facilitate some of the life skills curriculum. The program is executed in partnership with Florida International University Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management. Founder and Executive Director of Dress for Success, Sonia Jacobson, has made her mark on Learning Skills for Life as a life skills trainer in the program. Aligned with the values of Learning Skills for Life, Dress for Success Miami promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
On January 23, guests gathered at the Hilton Bentley Miami Beach for the celebratory event. The team from FIU included Simone Champagnie and Jeffrey Wahl from the Institute for Hospitality and Tourism Education and Research as well as Jessica Siskind, Sr. Director of Development at Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management.
“It is a privilege for us to be able to support such a worthy cause, one that shares the goal of Learning Skills for Life, enabling people to live better, more productive lives” said Janelle Prieto, Regional Learning Skills for Life Manager.
